Stop making her despair and then be resolved after a few words from a friend over and over again. Show her as the strong woman your other characters say she is and let her do something and defeat the enemy.

Why? Because the writer wanted a cute girl with a light hair color to be an invincible mass-murderer. Such a pathetic childish desire doesn't deserve any expectations of a deeper motive.
