I feel like this is supposed to be the kid telling them what to do.
Like, "stand next to him"
"Now both of you take a step to the right" or somerhing like that.
But I'm not looking at the races, so I dunno.

@DrWhoCares Hey-o! I think the type of conjugation you're talking about is the imperative form! The words they use are the Te forms, but they do look and sometimes sound pretty similar, if not are the same in pronounciation. "立って," (Tatte) and "歩いて," (Aruitte) are the Te forms of the verbs they use. The imperatives for these words however, are "立て," (still Tatte) and "歩け." (Aruke) They are pretty similar in terms of what they mean in English, but I kinda feel like it wouldn't match, as, "歩いて," means, "to be walking." If there is a way I'm just not remembering because I'm sleepy, it's probably either too unnatural for normal language or would require an extra verb. I appreciate your feedback though, and I hope you'll enjoy our future releases!

@SuMeBe haha, such a detailed response. As I said, I didn't check the raws of anything, so I didn't know the Japanese.
Going entirely off the English alone, and the images, it just seemed to make sense.
Of course, this entire chapter is all over the place kinds of wacky, so it's not super out of place.
