This reincarnated mom idea was also sewn into the story of Kyoukai no Rinne, albeit w/ a comedy spin, so that could serve as a pretty nice reference for this. Dunno if they share any more similarities though. Does this mom help mc with his finances through unconventional means too?

@Emerfirek There is a similar chapter in Jigoku Sensei Nube too (a manga about supernatural stuff) The mom of one of the mc is reincarnated in a little girl, she recovers her memories after she is hit in the head, the kid is still in elementary school and the mom is in kindergarden so the kid feels awkward and avoids her until Nube Sensei tells him that if he doesn't seal the mom and recovers the memories of the original little girl, the mom will take over the body and will die after that.

Idk anything abt Jigoku Sensei Nube, but that right there sounds like a haunting/possession by a ghost or sth. Two separate souls fighting over a body? Not many series portray reincarnation like that. Usually in manga, including a large percentage of isekais, memories from a past life are just that, additional memories. That said, I can think of one ln that does keep both souls upon dying and being transported to an isekai though: the mc of Death Flags basically possesses the body of a video game antagonist.

@Emerfirek I've actually read a novel that has a similar premise. Basically the MC's soul was called to another world by a God, and entered a girl's body, and took control over it. I thought it was reincarnation at first but apparently, it's not. TLDR: The original owner of the body has the power to foresee the future and despaired at all the possible outcome, and found out that the only way to save her life and the people around her was to call the MC, so she used her power and begged God to summon the soul of the MC inside her body.

So basically rn in the story, they're kinda sharing their body. The MC mainly stays active during the day, and the original owner of the body stays awake at night doing some weird ninja training. Oh, and the MC is really smart and good at magic, while the original owner is more athletic and proficient in assassination techniques, so they sometimes switch during battles when the MC needs to fight physically.
