I've posted this on the comment section before, but just in case anyone missed it:
Unfortunately, Shoujo Jiten is currently on hiatus. The author has stated on twitter with an explanation post that the reason is because of a pretty bad slump (productively and mentally) they’ve been having since around the end of last year.
That being said, they also mentioned in the post that they’ve improved enough to not have to regularly see a doctor, with that recent Eve MV they animated being somewhat of an encouragement. Not well enough to continue serialization just yet, but that’s something.
Shoujo Jiten’s chapter 17 was released on September 19th, with Volume 3 released on Kindle on December 12th. Kuro Oni, the author's other series, was last updated (also chapter 17) on May 8th, in 2019 also.
I have a sister who received a kidney transplant and can confirm this! Unless you're directly offered an organ from a friend/family member, you aren't told whose organ you're getting. But interestingly enough, when she got the transplant, she had a strange certainty of how old her donor was when they passed away, the donor's gender and their race. She also developed intense cravings for fried chicken and chocolate after the operation, something she never had even before she got sick!
@GreyArea Thanks for letting us know. Glad the author's taking the step to take care of themself. Their Eve MV was amazing and I'm glad it was a good thing for them!!
Ahhh, sad to hear about the hiatus- but honestly? I'd rather the author takes care, first. So many manga artists burn out and wind up with serious health issues, or dying young.
And honestly, this is a very lovely chapter, as well.
can confirm ALacie's statement. i used to have a friend who received an organ transplant too. he was absolutely sure about what his donor was like, and he started to gain a bit of weight after developing some cravings of his own. for some reason, he also developed a small habit of tapping his when he was waiting or thinking. in the past he had always twiddled his fingers, so it was a bit odd seeing that slight change in his habits.
either way, i hope the author gets well soon and is taking good care of themselves! drawing can be a very strenuous task and could lead to burnout. sometimes a break is the best thing you can possibly give yourself.
