@uMoonlight Well, even if he noticed her value rn, it doesn't give him any right to meddle in their relationship and act so overprotective like our ML is some deliquent. It's his loss he's never told her how he truly feels. So I don't think that the fact that he was confused or, I don't know, didn't want to ruin their friendship can justify his behavior. He doesn't own her.
Tbh I want him to suck it up already, so that we can focuse on the main couple.
