This is the consistently enjoyable shonen series I've read, of this current generation, since Boku No Hero.

…So, when are Hachi and Mike getting married again? Because at this point I'm pretty sure Mike isn't afraid that Hachi will steal Myaako, but that Myaako will steal Hachi.

This chapter was so fucking good.

Firstly, this might be mirroring Eiji's own struggles honestly because you have Hachi turning his dramatic works into gag manga that keep their dramatic core...like Jitsu wa Watashi wa. And then immediately having dramatic situations with Mikeya and Myaako turned around with a gag. Basically Eiji is super good at taking cliches and having fun and messing with them just like Hachi.

So you have really good dramatic and gag moments, with great panels or scenes like Myaako's full page lean in to Hachi and then her fucking eyes showing that the mangaka can tap into his horror ideas to really bring out tension.

Damn yo.
