It's not an enviable position he's in. Whilst he spends his days unable to do anything, his limbs will deteriorate without use, and he gets to suffer being in heat without any outlet. The constantly effective aphrodisiac and boredom will be extremely difficult to deal with.

He's able to converse with people very rarely, and when he does it won't be with equals, but with his hostage-takers. Once he does get to satisfy his sexual urge, he then has to ejaculate several more dozens of times, which will permanently scar him, not just mentally.

There's nothing enviable about his position.

The consequences of his position are obvious. He could be waterboarded and then eaten by cannibals and I wouldn't bat an eye, that's how little I care about his character.

Based on just what we see already he isn't in an enviable position. He's forced to be these people's pet whilst clearly suffering immensely under the drugs he's forced to take.
