don't know how the manga's gonna go...but honestly, this is probably the build I'd go for in a game like this, I'd be tempted to go mage/fighter, but only if the mage or fighter have at least two or three decent recovery skills, else definitely healer/fighter, it's not the highest DPS combo but built up properly you can still dish out good damage plus you end up damn near indestructible...actually I've done it before in a couple MMOs...a proper battle cleric can tank a boss 20+ levels higher than himself in some games...and still find time to res the warriors who despite being 15 levels above me somehow can't survive the AoEs I'm taking in addition to the normal attacks...I still can't believe we actually won that raid

This is unironically just PSO2 Techer/Fighter.

If I was in this game, I'd probably go with an Archer/Cook combo. I'd love to just go out into the wilderness and just never go back into civilization.

@InsaneInsomniac : and in some games healers have next to no offensive ability, try playing 4 white mages in the original Final Fantasy. MC is likely taking a (squishy) class designed for back row support and subbing in a front line combat ability. You can do it but most players who take the class are going to take options to improve the classes abilities, not hinder them.

Of course there is nothing saying that it is him subbing in fighter that is the full source of his character being out of spec, if it is a build you own style super advanced world like described, then there are likely other options he picks up that contribute to it like quest reward skills other players miss due to not interacting with the NPC's properly (you see shop girl's reaction to him talking to her, it is like most players are treating the NPC's as ones from simpler games)

Isn't this normally the monk class in most mmos? Yeah, some of them don't have the monk use healing magic but I think it use to be more often than not that this was the way the class worked.

@kyoya66 it's classic mmorpg quests. I mean like what are they ever going to do with wolf fangs, slime and a wolf's paw. Like what are they making? A broth? Wolf paw slime broth doesn't sound appetising does it? And the rewards will be some leather pants or something.
