Sono Shinigami wa Ningen ni Koi o Shitanda - Ch. 6

Wait, I'm mildly confused by the ending.
That last panel would imply their souls did reincarnate, they found each other, and got married (which is super sweet), but soul severance just meant their souls were destroyed after thousands of years in captivity, and their act of love didn't move anyone, as the sculpture would indicate. Did I just miss something which said 'and at the end of their sentence they would live one last life before their souls would be destroyed'?

Holy fuck that was cute and sad and great a real rollercoaster of emotions in only a few minutes fucking pog

@tsuylen @steamboatwillie the lord of the underworld was moved(see pag2 ch5) and made it so they remained together even though, in the official record, they have been punished and their story remains as a deterrent to any others
Gods of death are always big softies, even in real world myths no.

@CrynoZephyr nope, the soul severance explicitly stated they would not reincarnate. The last panels are also clearly in the same age, culture, etc. as the start of the manga, so it is not from millennia later unlike the museum panels.
My guess is either a scene from before they were convicted, some illusion they are sharing during their punishment (it stated they would be kept alive for a time before "expunged"), or just a what-if.
