@IEatWater seemed more like he paid to be a member (aka protection money, guild will enact revenge if anyone hurts you) versus now he's being recruited as actual staff.
Also it may be just me saying this but I would've told the neko that I'd like a pet as a signing bonus (not sexual, just having a hot guild master sitting on your lap as a cat sounds like fun. Nothing says "I'm the top" when the guildmaster does that just to keep you around).

Wow the mc really seems like he's just a person who got lucky (and he is obviously). I thought he wouldn't affiliate with a clan because he was going to be super powerful like other protagonists in similar novels. It's refreshing because it seems more realistic to a person in his position but also annoying because he could get held back by these people.
