You basically just said the reason he almost got assassinated, was because he didn't want to join a guild? You aren't doing a very good job of making me shy away from his side of the argument :/
I feel like the author’s intentionally trying to push the “FE is bad” agenda. Didn’t the tower system say that skills correlate to the user? For example, rewarding hard work, etc. It gave the FE the reincarnation skill for a reason, and gave the MC an “envy” skill for a reason.
The MC’s personality is already quite psychopathic (which was ironic since he stated he didn’t want to follow the top ranker’s footsteps). Would rather die to copy skills than working on his own. Also went back in time to kill the FE again just for the fun of it
