I totally had her figured for an ex-mangaka or doujinka, or assistant. Though it begs the question.. why does Shimizu piss Maekawa off, yet Maekawa seems to insist on spending time around her? Obviously Maekawa seems to have "lost her passion" for whatever works she did, hence why she has run away to this random company.. so, yeah.

Also, she was a mangaka? That explains a lot. And I guess her going AWOL is linked to her not being able to feel passion anymore and thus pissed at Shimizu for being able to feel it so easily, but still
