Look how doctor K beat all security guards by choking them in the neck and hanging like lifeless doll but fortunately he just knocked them out all of them.
As for gas room, he used that bunsen and gas as a flamethrower pointing to the vent for destroying the gas vent to disable it, of course it will make some explosive reaction due gas trap itself flammable (at 184 degree celcius)
