Tadokoro-san - Vol. 1 Ch. 10

Friends who have quit smoking and various other sources say that the third day is typically the very worst.

It's rather hard to believe that a school nurse would leave a student who said that it hurt to move.

@Jmann

*shrug* That's probably what the mangaka is comfortable generating, and readers would probably have to wait proportionally longer times for longer chapters. So I don't think that the pace would really change for the better.

@Oeconomist

Maybe she understood it as, like... her head hurts? I find it in general weird that students just sleep in bed at school when they're sick, instead of going home.

those are the webcomic chapters, simply published exactly as-is it seems

Feel like the author should expand the stories a little more. Maybe a little side character and more monologue from both Nikaido and Tadokoro. Because at this pace I don't think there's ANY difference at all from the webcomic version. Literally the same.

@Abedeus Well, someone who had to go to the nurse because they're sick enough to be sent home isn't necessarily in any condition to go home on their own so they'd probably be resting there at least until someone can pick them up anyway, or I guess until one of the teachers could take them home if that sort of thing is acceptable at all. Other times, you really only need to rest for a little while anyway to be able to get back to it. I had a few times in high school that were like that. Abrupt nausea and almost blacked out, just needed to like down for like a half hour and it was pretty much back to the point I could probably finish out the day (not that I did, because you seize any chance you can to get out of school and thus milk that shit for a free pass to leave early).

@Xystus i agree, ch 8 had some new scenes like the hand holding and shit, but ch 9 and 10 where pretty much copy and paste of the webcomic version.....feelsfuckingbadman

I worry about the bully chapter, the way it was handled in the webcomic was a little rushed so maybe now we can flesh out the redemption of the bully?

I suspect that we'd find a pretty wide variation in practices amongst Western schools, and that one of the major determinant across nations (Western or otherwise) is the extent to which there is some sense of community. For example, having schools attend to sick children could be seen as a way of boosting national productivity.

I can't really fault him for re-using pages from the web-comic: he put so much effort into them that they don't need to be touched up the way web comics usually do when they're serialized. Still, some extra content would be nice.

@Abedeus My school was like that. It's because the school needed the parents to come in person if a student was going to be released early. But sleeping is "free."
