"Snow White" and "not scary"? That seems obvious.
Might be different if they meant yukionna. (which would better fit the concept of wearing a kimono with snowflake patterns.)
So, was the author mistaken or did the translation team mess up by trying to westernize things?

@Wyrm The raws have "yuki-onna" (雪女, snow woman), nothing at all about Snow White — it seems that the translation team tried to westernize the character she's dressed as. Her name is Koyuki (小雪, small/little snow).

My Japanese isn't good enough yet for me to be able to tell whether he's (a) calling her by her name on purpose to be familiar, (b) making a play-on-words with her name and "yuki-onna," or (c) making a play-on-words with "yuki-onna" and "little snow" without realizing that Koyuki is her given name. From the next few chapters, it appears that he knows that Koyuki is her given name, but I can't tell whether he realizes that after he calls her by it here or if he has known it all along.

@Snoodlefloo that's not snow white, that's yuki-onna, a character on "bad and scary" side of spectrum. Report back to HQ that they messed up big.

Thanks for the info. The translation team messed up here, which was my guess, but given how manga often references non-japanese culture, I couldn't quite exclude the possibility that the author himself just used that name for some reason.

Edit, just read back, turns out others had caught this as well, I'm glad some others got the word and character play. No no. This is so much cuter before translation, Koyuki's name is also a play on her costume. Koyuki can also be interpreted as 'snow child' and there is a legend/myth such as Yuki Onna, snow lady!
Ugh it's such a good play on her character too, since she's super beautiful
