I like the conceit of many messiahs after the opening where you just kinda assume the MC is special.

@InfiniteVerisimilitude They have been referring to him as the messiah. Then there was that bit with the ice maker stopping global warming. That made it seem like he was going to do a series of things that each helped save the world. Perhaps leading up to some big event that gains him world recognition. Not just save a girl from falling and that's it. She would hit her head and die? Coma?

That's a great showcase of a butterfly effect. We're used to hearing or seeing it in action in fiction, but to truly experience how minor the initial state difference really is, it really drives the point home.
