@4sarah1212 unlike in the past where she was swept off her feet by the soldier boy that saved her from the bandits, she's made a few good impressions on some powerful people and raised her family's value. It could motivate some changes in how her family is approached by others for a variety of purposes.


Also, female protagonist surrounded by shitty men is pretty common in this genre.

True. My only issue is that her father has been away this whole time. I could be remembering wrong, but I think he was out at sea or somewhere really far away? I wasn't thinking that her actions shouldn't have had an effect on him yet... But maybe that's just me being nit-picky.
