I get a bad feeling from the agent... if this were real life she'd have better sense than go after a minor that she's going to be contracted to, but this is a shoujo so....

So I know that manga often have major characters go into modelling or similar stuff cuz it's glam and all and shows off how goodlooking the romance object is. But IRL, I'd be very uneasy about the idea of my kid going into modelling--that stuff can give you eating disorders and fuck up your self-esteem and twist your worldview to emphasize superficial crap.
(And I'm not nearly as confident as @SRH711 that there's no sexual predation going on in the industry)

the thing is i've seen some Asian shows and street scouting is a thing and it's mostly minor who are scouted so i am not 100% sure it's a shojo manga thing (although i would find that creepy too if someone approach me suddenly) , obviously there is the thing with eating disorder etc but i guess in this case the ML really had no purpose in life and he hated himself and his looks which doesn't fit in so if this modeling thing can finally give him some purpose then i could see why his adoptive parents were ok with it , I guess this is one of the rare cases were the choices were logical and support the characters
