That would make also make Daleth Alice's aunt and as far as we've seen they don't seem related. Also this witch was a "nun" and Alice's mom was a maid. While I doubt the Alice's mom theory, you can still go with it since they are only guessing this person is the one who cursed him.

So Alice’s mom DEFINITELY isn't the one who cursed him, but I still won’t rule her out of possibly being a witch and having some connection

I'm just curious, but before Alice mentioned that she hopes spring doesn't come quickly as the Duke's mother told them to break the curse by then. Is it simply that Alice believes that the Duke will pick his family and inheritance over a maid such as herself? Or is there a deeper meaning behind what she means?

From what I remember the time limit of spring is the time limit in which he will still be considered the heir. As for how he will live afterwards, isn't specified.

Also, I remember Alice being upset when the Duke once said that he would renounce his family, or his position, to be with her. So I don't think the quote is about a specific choice, but more about how something life changing will happen and it's probably something that leaves someone unhappy/mad.
