Hmm. But are those scenes really memories of Sora or are those distorted visions created by the spirit? If it's the latter, then the spirit may just be the same fire spirit Sora sealed seeking revenge.

Maybe the one that has been following Sora around is the fire spirit? Everyone keeps saying it is such a strong spirit so it'd make sense if it somehow latches on Sora, no? Argh this manhwa is so good!!
