They really need to take over the planet, or to be less "evil", have to convince all of the countries to work together to survive the bug menace. Doubt the latter will ever happen though.
@WillTell"Something's not right with either the clone or the mangaka."
I think it's the mangaka. He doesn't seem to remember that the Princess already told him the name of the planet was Aless when she was first teaching him in that cave. He presents it here as some big, important reveal.
Well the mc is dumb he thought he can handle all the problem on his own but no he chooses quit empire did he think he can handle the bug problem plus what happens if an empire rescue fleet arrived there what a selfish person to be honest I'm gonna keep reading this crap until some interesting will occur
He didn't quit the empire he's still a captain and therefore his responsibility still lies first and foremost as a subject of the Galactic Empire against the bugs, he prompted the clones to become citizens of the yet-to-be colonized world since they have no objectives concerning the mission because they are incapable of fulfilling it in the first place (so, for what purpose do they serve for the Empire other than to aide the captain's circumstances? And the Empire's Ethics Committee forbids the cloning using the tissues of the deceased so they will most likely be disposed). That's why he's reflecting on his interference of the world's politics with their advanced technologies and offering the clones to live in that world.
Also, he specifically mentioned he can't abandon his rank because he has the highest responsibility.
