As much as I think the aunt deserve to be treated that way and worse, I still think that JiuQing is being overly reckless in how she is acting about it.
Half of the time she makes reasonable objections, but the rest of it can easily be mistaken as pettiness so I find it hard to believe that it isn't backfiring and just making the stupid father mad.

Making the aunt stay in the worse courtyard is reasonable, but forcing her to kneel at night like that is just asking for trouble.

@Rohen She's a married woman, and divorce it always the womans fault in this kind of society, even if it wasn't, it still is. So I wouldn't get your hopes up unless she becomes a widow. And if her husband dies without a male heir it's likely the cadet branches of the family will tear apart the family inheritance like hyenas on a gazelle corpse.
