Even so, I'm still not sure whether to fault him. The faction of guys-with-guns sure seems destructive. This guy was very in-control, and had a very careful morality to him, and the means (and intent) to provide a relatively good life for the kids...

I imagine that’s the case. He struck me as very neat, organized, and in control. He had to have left that blood trail on purpose. To trigger this series of events.

Damn, he must've been setting up all those explosives for years. He already captured the boss, but he figured that it wouldn't stop the human traffickers. I wonder whether he knew or if he just hoped that their boss would have enough humanity left in him to spare two kids who freed him from captivity.

Just like the strange man, you'd think you already have this character pinned down, but then he hits you with something like this, but to an even more extreme degree. Although, that was already the case last chapter, but this one only hammered it in.

I'm interested in seeing more of these characters who seem like archetypes at first, but break off from them by the end.

@Brackass With the sheer competence he showed in waging a war all on his own, he might've been able to do a lot of good if all this tragedy didn't happen. It's a sobering thought, much like a lot of this story.

My take on this is his job is done. He found two kids who can actually see between right and wrong, and he's entrusting the future to them quite literally. He was probably waiting all that time for someone like that to show up, and had probably helped a fair share of people, but they were all broken like him. I mean the very nature of his setup is oddly difficult for one person to manage. Someone has to watch the screens to tell him where everyone is otherwise he's hampered purely by eyesight. Having the girl release the man was sure to set him and his crew on a proper warpath with the guy, which meant it was time to execute his final plan and take all the bad people out at once, himself included.

He was also probably oddly sentimental with these two even if he didn't show it, they appear to look a lot like his children.
