Pretty good introduction to the character. It's not some sob story about how MC got betrayed and couldn't, or rather, didn't do anything about it, but rather a story of character that succeeded in life, defeated all of their enemies (but likely didn't attain happiness, as is common for this type of character) and passed away in relative peace.

Looks to me that was all part of his plan.
Seems like the last order Theo gave to her was to kill him and end his cursed bloodline, thats why she was crying when she confronted him.
