The Rebirth of an 8th Circled Wizard - Vol. 1 Ch. 26

This seems like a great way to get fragged the first time you take these guys out on a mission, Henry.

it is me or is the translation is making no sense at the end? keep the "promise"? what promise? that he should throw away his badge to fight him? what?

This is slowly getting disappointing, and starts resembling manhuas with arrogant cultivators.

@movileanu12 My understanding is that he promises them a fair fight without rank being involved. Meaning they put down badge, fight him, and even if they win, he won't complain. Beating up a higher ranking individual calls for a punishment, normally. Apparently, the big idea the author has is for MC to demonstrate his strength by being a "strong guy" so the soldiers will start magically respecting him even after he burned down posessions of their comrade. Not the best idea, In my opinion.

@movileanu12
This is probably one of those cases where a shortcut was made in the adaptation of a LN... and so things make no sense because a detail is removed (a dialogue, a fight scene, ...), but a reference to it still remains.

This can be confusing at times, so I wish they didn't go for shortcuts when adapting LNs. They never know when something they removed will be used later on, and this case here is particularly obvious since it's all in the same chapter.

Read deathdonut explanation. I understood it the same way. Btw this is special force in the army they should be prepared for death of comrade. They already had time to mourn. I think the mc is doing it right. How long will you stay sentimental? Unless the crying guy was that read guy Lover. Otherwise their defiant beghavior is dengerous for them all.
