.... the premise was interesting enough, but the MC is coming off as wishy-washy and the queen is also coming off as too.... unhinged, bordering on illogical honestly, to be seen as a serious threat (to me at least, as a reader). i'm gonna have to drop this

like the prince is clearly a sleazebag but MC still got heart skips from him? geez you'd think her feelings of revenge would be strong enough to kill off what she clearly knew to be misplaced affections

I’m finding the tone of this confusing. Normally I find characters looking for revenge powerful. But she seems tragic and sad. I find this more distressing than I anticipated.
