well its better than the novel because the conversations and interactions feel more dynamic i dont know if thats the translators fault but the novel is boring as f. not because the story is boring but its written like a observation report or a wiki entry

as for her engagement... well she has a bad hand... nobles cant just break engagements with their royal family or they face execution be it by law or the faction behind the prince and when the engagement is thought if as an annoyance they might be executed under false charges because that spares the prince from having to break the engagement

in surviving as the heroes wife there was a very fitting sentence about it... when you get engaged to a royal you either become the queen dowager or face confinement and death
