The Story of J - Vol. 2 Ch. 13 - On the road to Kobe

When the chapter came out in the magazine there was probably an ad there. Older series have that. You look at High Teen Boogie and there's a ton of pages that are only half filled with panels, with the other half just being a simple drawing to put something in the blank space, where there was once some sort of commercial.

Nice piece of info Lok.

J is a fucking great manga. It's of the hard boiled genre that it doesn't really exist the last few decades.
I think that back in the day there were more manga like that.

Taniguchi Jiro made a bunch of them in his early days (Hotel Harbour View and Benkei in new York are the only one that have been translated sadly)
and manga like Shield of Aegis and Jesus (a small group managed to translate a few chapters from both, around 10 years ago)
come to mind.

It seems 80s manga mostly hard boiled stuff like this huh... I wonder if there's another stuff like this and city hunter tho

I like how the getaway car is an old American Corvette. Not noticeable at all! Very subtle! 😄 But then again, where would the fun be in a drudge car? Style points, for sure.
