I knew there was more to the story than the queen just didn't care about Tara. She wasn't surprised at all about her magic, plus she said there is value in Tara beyond her magic.

1. Target(in this case, the prince) was not the captor or abuser.

2. There is literally only one guy.

If you ask me, its just hormones going haywire from seeing the opposite sex (or only other human) for the first time. (On top of that, heroic, handsome, yada yada, saved from loneliness)
