Because of Chekhov's gun and all that, I'm assuming the boy is the phantom thief and is planning on stealing himself a lordship. Clearly, somehow the circus will be involved, too.

@otomefreak that's what I was starting to suspect as well, I think hubby is picking up on it too, why he keeps cautioning not to invest too heavily emotionally in him
