So...women tend to write these novels, right? Or at the very least, men who have an idea of what appeals to women. Soooo...typical closet abusive and manipulative scum MLs aside (as there is no justification for making a ML we're supposed to fawn over that way), what is it with making MLs so casual with taking the lives of others? So many of these fantasy setting MLs are the same, killing who they please without consequence, only having a soft spot for family members and the MC, and maybe sparing people the MC cares about if he isn't a total dumpster fire. Why is this such a common theme? Is it another form of power fantasy, but through marriage? But these ML always bully and humiliate the MC. Why would girls gush over a character like that?
