@frenchfry The siscon transition might have already been there if Rezef's memories are anything to go by (I assume they had a good relationship as children, at least), and as for her personality change I think many people had indeed noticed. However, because it was a good change (on the surface, anyway) everyone is more overjoyed she's become so "kind" and "easier" to deal with rather than worried about how she changed literally overnight. There are a few who are actually worried, Vera being one of them and initially so was Rezef (he's being manipulated hard due to his probably lingering feelings for his sister, whether they be platonic or otherwise, so he's not as worried), but most people aren't aware of just how cunning and intelligent her gaze has become.

now that i think of it, i think his possessive side is still prevalent even in their past life. he thought of Kayena as his very own tool, as if her life belongs to him only. but now it has become twisted into a protective type of possessiveness.
