Never been a fan of this sort of trope, "I've been a terrible abusive monster to you for years, but I secretly like you, and I'm sorry, so now everything's okay". Hard pass.

She is possessive, clingy, bitchy, a violent bully but she gets a pass because it came for a insecure kid who just wanted his Friend back? Bullshit, no matter the circumstance the behavior she displayed toward him is not to forgiven so easily.

I hate the headmaster. She needs to be fired, from a cannon. She's the one who allows all of this shit behavior, all for the sake of reputation and money. Her whole institution needs to be torn down. The poison of corruption oozing from that school will taint everything it touches.

@icam98 She is no better than a prostitute. Whoring herself out for the whims of the nobles. All at the detriment to the quality of education the school provides. She has turned her prestigious academy into a house of cards. Deny one whim, and it all comes tumbling down. If she actually had any pride left, she would do just that, and remove herself from society. The school will fall because the nobles won't be able to agree on anything, and their promised support to the war effort will come to nothing. Aside from introducing a new healing mage, this arc was a waste of time.

@Flanyl while i do agree with you, there are not much funds that they do have for there to even be a school. That is why she is at the position that she is right now. All she can do is nudge at the right area to have a different outcome. I can get behind your idea of firing her if this was a modern school, but an isekai and a medieval magical type school? There's too much unknown factors at hand here.

@icam98 Nah, when this arc started, it was made to sound like the magic academy is the top place of learning and developing magic in the whole world (as they know it). So, it should have been an institution of great prestige. But what did it turn out to be? It's like some bloody high school in Japan that must fight for its very survival by attracting children of wealthy families by any means necessary. It has zero prestige. The nobles and other rich folks aren't willing to pay anything (within reason) to have their children get the best education there. Instead the school must promise to bend to the nobles' every whim to have the nobles deign to send their spoiled brats there.
Such an approach is a downward spiral. The quality of the school will inevitable degrade further when things are like that, which means the nobles are even less willing to have their children attend. Let alone less fortunate folks. Why would they save money for years to send their son/daughter there when they know it's a lousy place, where everything is decided by petty nobles, not qualified staff? The principal should be kicked out immediately and a stern mofo should be placed in charge. Maybe a third prince or a second son of a duke, or something, who had not only a background that allowed him to meet nobles eye to eye, but who of course would also need to be an excellent administrator.
