A couple quick things, there seem to be 2 cut & paste errors, 1 on page 10 where the countess say "It was because the person she was dealing with was of such a high status"; and the second on page 10 wherev the emperor says "Yes your majesty. It is my honor. I will do my best."

That was also my thought. That whole interlude was weird as hell. At first, I thought he sensed the archmages mana from the princess or something but... apparently not? He just wanted to visit a 1 y/o in the middle of the right to have a "conversation"???

I know zany and eccentric mages are A Trope in fiction but that guy is a bit much.
