Thread disappeared (kind of)... then came back

A few days ago I wanted to reply to this thread to say my login issue had been fixed, but I couldn't find it. As luck would have it, I stumbled across a link to it somewhere... but, having found it, the reply button didn't work. I though the reply function was broken, but no, it worked on a different thread. Was the thread locked? Couldn't see any indication that it was. Went back to the Bugs forum to see if it was flagged as locked, or fixed, or whatever, but still couldn't find it. And today it's visible again, and I was able to post a reply without any problems.
I thought maybe it was deleted (since the issue was, apparently, resolved) but still visible via the thread URL, but now I don't know... Something weird's going on here though.
