I even considered that the mailman's discovery would lead him to try to change the future, but as it turns out, it was a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I dunno why her suicide note was to the mailmen she met once. If she met him more then once and had a friendship strong enough that it was her final thoughts, why did he not try to stop her when he knows the exact time?
