To Be Winner - Ch. 45 - deception

if you're curious about the omake at the end - it's a reference to a chinese meme song that was popular a while back! the song is called 骑上我亲爱的的小摩托 'riding my beloved moped.' here's a performance video.

it doesn't come with lyrics but i mean, the lyrics are basically just 'riding my beloved moped, i bid goodbye to traffic jams, soon i will be home' repeated a bunch of times...

Thank you for the translation 🙏🙏🙏🙏Kyaaaaaaaa xiao he looks so badass and coooooolll💕💕

Wait a second...."take my car" he said....but that's a bike...what?....am i hallucinating?

Also....why does he have Iannone's racing Ducati? Dude, that bike is clearly not meant for streets beside costing about half of a person organs on sold on a shady market.....

@fantasymaster lol, that's probably my bad! the nuances don't really translate well, so here's my long tl note --

most words in chinese are compound words. in chinese, a car is 汽车 and a motorcycle is 摩托车; you might notice that both of them include the 车 character. so yang yao says 'take my 车' and it's not entirely clear what kind of vehicle he's actually referring to.

you use 车 as a compound for a lot of things, though. for example, 车 could also mean a bicycle (自行车) but most people would assume you're referring to a motor vehicle.

that's actually the joke in the omake, too! you expect it to be a car, but instead it's a three-wheeler / pedicab (三轮车).

"Take my car"
*Is motorcycle*

I freaked when he threw that helmet! Good helmets are so expensive!!

@astarael is it like the equivalent of saying "take my ride"? Like its a vehicle, but ambiguous?

@yannickq yep! i just went with 'take my car!' because it sounded less stilted in english to me and it didn't occur to me that motorcycles are not considered cars in english, lol.

I'm the cleaner for this series (mostly), sorry for not doing the ad cleans I promise I really tried but it was too much HAHAHAHA
