How does this make any sense whatsoever? It's literally impossible for an ingredient to have that much time span to be cooked. Its just a fish. Was the author desperately trying to make ANOTHER look impressive? Because he felled flat on his face with its lunacy. But not to worry for our heroes! With the power of Komatsu's Gary-Stu powe-I mean Food Luck, he will shorten the time to 65 years! No other chef have came to Komatsu's solution! Not even Setsuno! You know, the 2nd best chef in the world? While Komatsu is only in 88th?

For one, the ranking is meaningless pretty much, as even Starjun said himself "there are plenty of good cooks outside the top 100". But yeah this is Dragon Balls levels of silly, but it's so consistently silly it kinda makes sense if you only consider the rules of the manga's universe

What Starjun meant by that is for people outside the top 100. Even though their not in the top 100, their still good chefs if their skill is acknowledged. If the ranking is meaningless, why bother even having it in the first place besides showing how much better Komatsu is compared to everyone else? Especially when Setsuno survived for over hundreds of years and is strong enough to survive by herself in the Gourmet world? Yea no.
Also I don't recall Starjun saying that, I only remember "Mahmai" saying that exact line.
And no, dumb rules that go against cooking are dumb. It is not possible for food to take that long. No matter where or what setting it is.
