I thought this in an earlier chap too, when the guy friend was talking about how the school/their department sees her, but their dynamic strongly reminds me of that typical Rich Boy/Poor Girl dynamic. The one where the privileged Golden Boy is super pushy & intrudes into the poor, usually nerdy, girl’s life with his Love/drama, while she’s struggling with rent or her parent’s debts. He has the requisite part-time jobs & family problems too
This series is an interesting role reversal.
