that interview is not as much nonsense as you might think
there were actualy multiple eccentric killers for hire in chinese history
be it europe, russia or japan the assassins there were mostly about professionalism in and out unnoticed, but a ton of chinese counterparts had realy realy strange calling cards which is a common trope in novels

and the assassin that would first cook his target their favourite meal was also one of them just like the one that would send a jar of self made wine in advance to the target and even one that would feed its current victim parts and bits of his last victim
