Good god she's so paranoid, always assuming the worst of everyone around her.

@Psychronia Personally I think those are her own delusions, but it's possible she's the one who sees through him and I'm wrong. That said, just because she says he's a certain way doesn't mean he is, she's been known to blatantly misjudge those around her before this point, and frankly the favorability increases seem to run counter to her notions.

@nivinator @Asbolus Thing is though this world she's in now is heavily gameified, the people seem to be more than just game characters now, they've repeatedly demonstrated they're NOT as one dimensional as in her past game attempts, like, there's times she's expected to get killed and wasn't, I'm not saying all these men around her aren't capable of murder, but if they still followed the script from when she played it as an actual game, she genuinely would have died multiple times now, already.

She's right to be cautious, you're totally right, paranoia and fear for your life is right, that doesn't mean that she's always correct in her assumptions of assuming the worst, and realistically it hurts her in some of these situations more than helps her. Obviously it's not all totally rational, it makes sense fear would cloud her judgement, but it doesn't mean her judgement isn't clouded all the same.

I'm sure Eclise can be a danger, but like shit, she said it herself, in the game he WOULD have killed her in that scenario, there's no particular reason he couldn't have done it again if he wanted her dead right there, if it's been demonstrated to be a scenario that happens exactly like that right there. Chances are he doesn't want to kill her presently, that doesn't mean he couldn't easily change his mind which is where the danger is, but I'm skeptical it's exactly how she sees the situation, there's a reason things have diverged from some past routes when it was an actual game.

i love how she isn't naive enough to believe that his real character is like that. i love that she knows he's a wolf in sheep's clothing. i love that she knows Eclis is also playing pretend in order to survive. oscar-winning actors, both of them lmao

This chapter has hit me so hard for some reason. The recognition of the act they're both putting on, and her realization that she could easily die if he wanted it to happen. Her "puppy" isn't a puppy.

They're both striving to live. That's what it comes down to.

There is a bubble that I feel could have been translated a bit better to give it a bit more clarity, but I still understood in the end.
