Don't hold me to this because I don't have good memory, and it's been a while.
I think Lerajay in the novel was unaware of the King's curse or that her grandfather casted a curse on him to begin with.
So, Hamel and Ginger believe that she might know the way because she is still pursuing the king even after reading the novel.
It's either that, or Lerajay is an idiot like Ginger who didn't finish reading the book to begin with, lol.
