I agree and disagree. It deserved to be a longer saga because of how much they build them up as the final boss. But honestly? I like how it ended. SMATT didn't lose because of skill. It lost because of one jackass being so arrogant and in a rush to win, that it got the person who made them what they were killed, even though he was trying to abandon them all to their death.
