Thank God, I was about ready to strangle her if she couldn't spit it out. I've read/watched too many manga/anime already where people try to read each others' minds or play stupid little symbolic games, and either get separated by it or you know they would have in reality*.

* - aka the Mrs. Doubtfire Effect, where the "happy ending" is almost cruel (when the writers paint themselves too far into a corner, then use a blatant deus ex machina to fix things that you know would stay broken in the real world)
