okay, so the soldier storyline is closely tied to the book The Things They Carried (I know it's much more explicitly tied to Heart of Darkness, hush). I don't mind it. Minimal art, lots of blank backgrounds, very little to no horrific imagery... this is a good story, but it's a supernatural investigation story with horror overtones, and as to why it's good I cannot say. The protagonist is a likeable guy.
