Your comparison doesn’t make sense. You see, the difference here is they were actually close friends. Of course they’re not anymore but they were and because they were she wants to know why she left and became mean like that. It’s not like she trying to change her or anything, for now she only wants to know the reason

That's not how you treat friends. If anything, she should have talked it out with her ages ago. What she did here is a bit too antagonistic for my taste, but it's probably the best way to force Shiho to fess up, while not revealing any vulnerabilities (since Aki is also a coward).

From a reader standpoint, I can't hate Shiho - I can pity her and hope that she can finally find the courage to say what she really wants to (which we can kinda guess too), instead of throwing a months-long tantrum on the outside and hiding in her shell on the inside.

Sometimes friends become abusive and stop being friends. (Same with lovers/spouses) The only advice I can give in those cases, from personal experience, is to get out before it gets worse. There are other people in the world, and one doesn't need to let the sunk cost fallacy dictate one's relationships.

If Shiho and Aki end up as a couple at the end of this arc, I'm going to drop this. Honestly, it makes me so upset I need to go and cool my head for a bit. (I apologize if my reply is a bit terse.)
