@LordoftheKeep The closest I know of is in France where anyone from friends to family may kiss each cheek (or kiss the air on both sides of each others' faces, at least) as a greeting, "la bise."
@DeProgrammer@LordoftheKeep It's the same in Latin America, at least in Peru where I live. Well, it's not a kiss per se, you touch your cheek with the other person cheek, it's a greeting between 2 different genders though, at least in my country. I was surprised when an italian friend came to visit and greeted me like that on both cheeks, no difference in gender.
Yeah with COVID we just knuckle bump each other, heh.
Please don't tell me this actually exists in Japan, makeup classes at school.
Also, Christ, if a man wish to kiss a friend because he enjoys it, then let him.
That brainwashing relative.
@LordoftheKeep
Surely you know of the vaunted commie kisses?
Kissing on the lips as a normal greeting was a common Russian custom and still is in many parts of the county.
@DeProgrammer@laurencevanq at least where I am you don't kiss unless you actually are close with the person (i.e., family or long time friends etc)
Never rando strangers
It's just Japan's way of saying "foreigners are different and don't conform to our standards"
I just realized he probably said he has someone he likes not because he does, but because he’s gay and it’ll make her more likely to give up without him telling her.
@Neushaartje
It's a school for the blind, so probably a special case. Especially (and unfortunately) since society at large have a heavy bias for presentability and "looking good."
