Youjo Senki - Vol. 8 Ch. 23 - Devil in the Coast of Norden I

Don't blame the manga artist for that. Here she is in the light novel art.

stupid old man said that only to justify his exploitation of a child soldier

@Kayriel yeah, and the whole thing about being malnourished whiched led her to being small is something that affects the chest. Shit, my sister had problems with nourishment due to colitis and she ended up with maybe b cups while every women in my family is d cup or bigger. my mom had a breast reduction and she is still like and h or an i cup

100£? Isn't that like 4,200£ in modern value? Shockingly cheap indeed..
Gonna just assume this story doesn't utilize actual WW1 currency values..

Highlights for this Volume- Pages 12, 13, 20 and 21. These 4 parts dealt a critical hit. Especially the first part of 21.

@Taima what do you mean? You can't blame a father for hugging her daughter like that. How did it ruin the mood? I can also see it being interptreted by someone as ecchi but..... really? If i was a man who loved her daughter very much I would've done the same cause I won't know when I'm able to meet them again. That is, If I'm even alive by then.

The manga does a way better job of making you care about Anson Sue than the anime did.
When he first "died" against Tanya I was questioning why he didn't retreat because the rest of his squad was killed and Tanya let him go multiple times.
The Manga really highlights his loyalty to his country and his belief that the empire is an evil that threatens the peace of the world.
I might actually care when he dies cuz I could care less in the anime.
Also the reveal of Mary sue was done much better in the manga as well. The anime just had her revealed with no build up but since the manga introduced her before hand her later appearance will be more impactful.

@Alex-dono-sama

Evil Empire yah right and it was their Country that started the War and I've read so far in the Manga its Empire vs this Country and that Country. It's like if in WW2 Germany started a War with France and Britain and USA blames Frances and helps Germany.😒

@Liquidxlax

He was talking about Mary, who was not malnourished as a kid like Tanya. Mary grew up in a healthy and loving home.

@ZelousR2

Yeah, the various other countries in this story are incredible hypocrites. Whatever you might say about Germany IRL, Germany in this story are the indisputable good guys.
