ty lime this gave me immense joy. you dont even know.

"schmoopsie" *wheezing intensifies*

One major change shown in this chapter as compared to the original "Sign of Four" story. Tonga, in this chapter is shown as a white male when in the original version of the story, is actually a very small, dark-skinned person (he called him an Islander), with a misshapen head. The footprints in the house in a previous chapter was also modified to being "regular" sized shoe-print, when in reality, the were actual footprints made by a very small person. Of course, in order to properly use the "blackmail" situation, they changed Mary's situation. There are other changes as well, the last major one being that once the treasure box (now empty) has been returned to Mary, this is the time that Watson confesses his love to Mary.

This blackmailing king is gonna die soon isn't he. After all, he's pissed off every main character XD

Lol
even here Milverton is a dickweed
But he's painted a huge target on his forehead to get Sherlock and Moriarty involved

I like this tie in: this means the unnamed woman in the original milverton story is probably Mary.

i had the wrong idea in page 12 there for a sec lmao
thanks for the chapter

Thank you for translating this new chapter! It really fun getting to read the arc in one sitting. I’ll have to start letting the chapters pile up before reading them. It’s much more enjoyable. I’m glad to see Mary is so smart, and also that she really does care about John.

But wasn't Small someone who had escaped prison? If so, if he got caught again for a "not so serious crime" that only warranted a couple of years, the fact that he had been an escaped convict would keep him in for a lot longer, right?
