how the hell did Leo, a living super weapon from before the end of old humanity forget about combustible gasses? it would make more sense if he complained about it not activating when he used a blowtorch, but does when he uses an extremely minor warmth spell. Or maybe it was supposed to be referencing the poison meditation room, which would make more sense

Even factoring all that he still basically lives for combat against demons, so it's not exactly impossible that he doesn't know precisely how certain bizarre traps are built. He only needs the ability to survive them. Plus though his technological knowledge is vast, the demons are far inferior to him in that regard so even if he did know how to make something like this he could potentially still consider it strange that a demon managed to make this form of dungeon trap.
